Reflection..

Yesterday was a good day for the stomach.. I was craving for some BBQ, so Xu Bo and I decided to grill.. Felix da cat was here too, he was looking forward to get his loft bed but the guy cancelled on him.. which means.. I STILL REMAIN the only person with a bed in our apartment :)..

Anywayz, Bo and I got steak, chicken heart and gizzard, fish (the most expensive kind in Costco!), and some chicken wings.. Bo prepared the chicken wings and the chicken heart (skewered with onions).. I mainly just did the unimportant stuffs while Felix prepared the Steak.. We also had some Corona.. The meal turned out to be unbelievably good, apparently both Bo (not Bo Vu) and Felix are great BBQer... While I am a great EATER..

I took a day off from poker yesterday, I did a lot of back up of my files in preparation for my reformatting today.. hopefully everything goes well.. I will have Linux installed and hopefully have time to play around with it.. good stuff..

Today was supposed to be a good day at poker, but just as I was pocketing 80 dollars. a river happened... QQ vs 44, he was all in, 4 came on the river.. 2/45 chance.. WOW?.. I did not even get on tilt.. I still played well, I feel like that's an everyday occurance to me now.. until I all-ined with a top pair and he called with 2 overcards on the flop.. again, he caught a pair ..
This was the final match of the 20 dollars 4-way headsup.. pay off is 80 dollars for top place.. a river cost me 80 dollars..

I also was supposed to finish first in a 25+2 turbo.. however, as I always do, faltered... I finished 2nd for the 4th time in this tourny... first pays 115~, second is 67 dollars, apparently a huge difference..

I played a 15+1 turbo, this was sickening as well, when it got down to 3 players, I was top stack, but blinds were also very high, the person to my right was getting blinded off twice.. yet he doubled up twice on me.. 9/2 os beat my A/8 suited.. 4/3 os beat my A/4 suited (that's a 1 to 3.5 underdog).. the next thing I know, I was getting blinded off.. how unlucky..

I finished the worst of all five 10+1 Multi Tourny I have entered so far.. I actually had a top-10 stack early (11 out of 520 something).. but since this tourny started before the 15+1 could finish.. after what happened at 15+1 I was in no mood concentrating and playing diciplined like I always do... I guess I am done for today.. Merely +30 dollars for the day

Now I think about it, I am really not that great/LUCKY of a poker , my payrate is pathetic.. I am up consistently but disproportional to the amount of time I put into it.. I think something has gotta change, I need to make some reflection on the way I play..

I believe I have became very diciplined (unless I am on tilt - see my bad beats).. I can place consistently in any tourny.. But I vary it too much, I think each tourny requires unique way of approaching it.. so I decide to make this list of how good I am at most.. so I will stick with one at least couple of times before switching around..

5 dollar headsup (4-ways): payoff is 20 dollars, I only played this once, won -- Stake too low for me
10+1 Single Table tourny: I do not remember, but I did win this once, placed more than 50% of the time -- maybe I am greedy, but stake too low for me!
12+1 6-handed tourny - Won once, placed 2nd once, didnt place once - Maybe I should play this a little more..
15+1 Single Table Turbo - I suck at this one, I should avoid it.. I do not know why, but my track record just suck at it..
25+1 Single Table Turbo - of 5-6 times I played this, I finished 2nd 4 times, this tourny easily is the tourny that paid me off the most (67*4).. If I ever find the way to finish first, that's 120 dollars per tourny -- I think this is because players are generally better in this tourny, so I get to play more aggressive.. and I am more concentrated and diciplined since the stake is a little high for me.. however because of the stake being a little too high, I feel uneasy playing it all the time.. :(
10 dollar (4-way) headsup -- 4/6 times I won, the other two times I did not win is because the opponent got lucky on me.. this is my most confident tournament, I do not believe anyone playing stake at 10 dollars headsup can beat me.. Headsup is the most pure (least lucky) form of NL hold'em in my opinion, I should definitely play this more.
20 dollars ( 4-way ) headsup -- 0/2, I got cocky and played this twice today, but I think I can beat it.. Well.. if my QQ holds up agains 44 next time.. This tourny pays 80 dollars.. if I can consistently beat it the way I can beat 10 dollars, I get rich fast :)
10 dollars Multi tourny -- 2/5 times get paid (9th and 11th - 140 dollars total profit).. 3 other times I busted.. I think this is a good ratio, I just need to keep playing this and keep playing well.. I believe one day I can win it.. at least I should be able to make some more final table appearances in the near future :)
